Crisil has said that Roopa Kudva, MD & CEO, has informed the board of directors of her intent to leave Crisil after the company appoints a successor.
In a filing to the stock exchange, Crisil said it is commencing a search for a successor. The nomination and remuneration committee of the board of directors will oversee the search process and Kudva will work closely with the committee during the process, Crisil added.
Crisil shares were trading down 0.72 per cent or Rs. 14.30 at Rs. 1,960.70 on the BSE.
After seven years at the helm of Crisil, Roopa Kudva has decided to move on.
Prior to her taking charge as MD & CEO, Kudva was the leader of Crisil's ratings business for seven years.
Kudva, in a statement, said: “Change at the top at judicious intervals is a sound governance practice and allows companies to refresh themselves… I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition.”
Douglas L. Peterson, Chairman, Crisil, said: “We respect Roopa’s decision and appreciate that she will continue to manage the affairs of Crisil until a successor is appointed.”
Pointing out that Roopa provided strong leadership to Crisil, Peterson observed that during her tenure as MD & CEO, the market capitalisation of Crisil increased from Rs. 2,900 crore to Rs. 14,000 crore today.
